Govt survives on police: Amini
Dhaka, June 24 (bdnews24.com) ? The government has lost its popularity and is running the country depending on the police, says chairman of a faction of Islami Oikya Jote (IOJ) Fazlul Haque Amini.
"The days of the government are numbered. It'll collapse if the police stop backing it," he told a gathering of the party activists at its Lalbagh office on Friday.
Accusing the administration of regional partiality, Amini said, "Police officials from Gopalganj are promoted to vital posts."
"This government is not only against the country but also against Qur'an," he further alleged.
About himself, Amini said he had been under house arrest for the last two months.
